A traditional style of green tea from the Lincang region of Yunnan, hand rolled into tight pearls that slowly unfurl in the bowl.
Despite its deeply floral aroma, no jasmine or flowers remain in the finished tea. The leaves are naturally perfumed through a traditional piling process, where fresh flowers are layered with the tea, allowing their fragrance to move into the leaves before the flowers are removed.
The result is a clean and fragrant green tea with a soft floral perfume, gentle sweetness and fresh character.
A popular and well known style of tea in China, these pearls were sourced during our recent travels through Yunnan as we visited our good friend and teacher Lucy.
